I agree how would you like it if someone put your name out there on a post that is viewable by anyone asking for your contact information and how are we supposed to give you the contact information anyway even if we have it it is very rude to give out contact information to a third party without consent I know I hate it when my friends do it and I hate it when people don't use any punctuation at all isn't this really annoying

I would also like to point out that he is not looking for a friend, he's looking to talk to someone about a video. We have no idea what conversation he's going to have, who this person is, what the video is, or if the person who made it wants their contact information spread out all over the zone. If I had his phone number, and I give it out here, not only can the poster read it, but everyone can. I've just given a phone number to thousands of people, how would you like it if I did that with your phone number?
Lastly, yes, I will make fun of people who can't use punctuation. It makes you look ignorant and uneducated.

he is asking to be contacted with this person, you could send the information to him threw a private message. and you could just simpley say,
I have this persons contact information. Would you like for me to pass yours along to them and let them get back to you?
This would give him what he wants and in a good way that wont affend the person or share their contact information to the world. And it is also less rude than what has been going on instead.
And he could have used periods, but he didn't, so I can't take him seriously. Its a pet peeve of mine. If you can't be bothered to use at least somewhat proper punctuation, I can't be bothered to take you seriously. Yes, I'm that much of a jerk.

This board topic raises some radical privacy concerns.
I know I'm only bringing this back to the top, but we of every generation really need to consider this: Putting a full name out there, and in a community as small as the blind is, it's possible to derail what this person may have wanted. How many of us, for instance, have gone onto one forum for awhile, only to disappear for our own reasons? Only we were there under a handle or pseudonym. Perfectly reasonable. Now we have this small-town phenomenon many of us city types only read about in books. This is a phenomenon history is replete with examples of, and replete with examples of escape from. Putting a full name out in a small community on a public forum, in its own way, could be deemed a form of a a hostage situation: if this person really does exist then against their will they are tied to a community they may or may not wish to be tied to. To that end, I challenge topics like this, either here or elsewhere, on its face.
That's their choice. If a famous person wants to put out their personal shit, that's on them. Now if someone did that without their permission, that is different. Though things tend to slip out with the media, so any famous person should expect that.

I'm slightly peeved that someone doesn't see anything wrong with this. I mean, as leo said, it could really get someone into trouble if the right people stumble on it.
Famous people make a choice to be famous. If you're a movie star, you chose that career, and the infamy which goes along with it. Do I think that means we should be looking in your windows, no, but your name will be appearing all over the place. This person did not ask to be put on this board, did not ask to be put on this site, did not ask for any notoriety whatsoever, and it is up to us to stop the behavior.

And now, to make this a little easier to read for the people that don't want to slow down their speech and read my message word for word: OK, so they're making fun of his writing. Big deal. if you've ever made fun of something a politician said in one of their speeches because you thought it negatively impacted their campaign, you have no room to talk. And as for the personal information, I completely agree with Cody, Chelsea and others. Granted, I'm sure the original poster didn't intend this person any harm, but if they were making any sort of effort to keep their real name out of the internet community, you've just blown those efforts, Sound Warrier. OK, so let's say this person has no problem putting their name out here, and you're well aware of this, it might have been a good idea to write, just as a side note or something, that this person doesn't mind his/her full name getting posted on the internet. and for those of you who are going to come backand say I'm asking him to take an unnecessary step, and that it shouldn't matter as long as he's aware, my response is that not only would it show us that he's taken privacy into consideration, but also that it's OK for someone to openly use this information to help him find the person.

Proofing your writing doesn't take much time, and neither does using punctuation and even semi correct spelling.
I know i'm not the best speller in the world, so try not to hold that against people when the words sound correct. But that's the thing.
